National Girl Child Day 2020

#BetiBachaoBetiPadhao

The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana is a campaign of the Indian government that aimed to generate awareness and improve the condition of girls in our society.

But ask yourself as an Indian , Is this campaign really successful ? Did each and every Indian girl come to know about it ?

My answer would be ‘NO’. Why ?

My major reason would be the ‘Nirbhaya’ case which remains unsolved for the last 7 years ….This puts a big question mark on ‘Beti Bachao’.

But no doubt , nowadays most of the girls are well educated and are entering different streams leaving males behind.

Let me give you some examples :

Maj. Deepika Rathore

  •        Army Ordance Corps
  •       Two time Everest Summiter

Ms . Bachendri Pal

  •           Indian mountaineer
  •           First Indian woman to reach the summit of Mt. Everest
  •           Awarded Padma Bhushan

Sub Lieutenant Shivangi

  •           First Indian navy pilot
  •      Grew up in the state of Bihar

Still the orthodox mindset of some people and poverty in the society are the main hindrances for some girls in villages or remote corners .

Inspite of all this scenario , I feel blessed to be a loving daughter to well educated parents and  have all the rights – From studying to swimming .

So this National Girl Child Day (celebrated on 24 th January every year, started by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in 2008 ) , these are my thoughts :

After reading this , my dad proudly said : “Instead of writing she is no less than a boy , You should have written She is more than a boy “
