Feroz Shah Kotla - Haunted by djinns #BlogchatterA2Z
What if I tell you that there is a place in India where people go and write letters with their wishes in them ; leave the letters there and let the supernatural take care of them and their wishes...
Well , this is true in the Feroz Shah Kotla Fort , one of the oldest structures in Delhi which is said to be haunted .
It was built by the Mughal ruler , Feroz Shah Tughlaq in 1354 . The Mughals built it when they shifted their capital from Tughlakabad to Firozad due to a shortage of water in that region . The fort was believed to solve water crisis as it was built along the Yamuna river.
Madrasas , palaces , gardens and mosques were all built inside the fort which are the symbol of the reign of the third ruler of the Tughlakabad dynasty .
The people who believe in Islam , say that angels were made of light , humans of clay and smokeless fire created djinns .
The fort is believed to be a home to djinns and the believers visit the fort to seek blessings and find solutions to their problems . Some exorcisms are also performed here for those who are believed to be cursed by the evil spirits .
The local people are also seen offering milk to the djinns in the fort in order to get their wishes fulfilled . But the visitors must remember that the djinns are not angels and they can be bad as well . The djinns can even get married and have a family but they are formless .
They supposedly target young women who are seen drying their hair on rooftops . People who have visited the fort also claim that they have felt invisible slaps , heard screams from graves. The mentally disturbed people also go to this fort for solace .
So would you like a visit here ?
I am participating in #BlogchatterA2Z . Are you ?

I have passed by this fort many a time but never managed the time to stop. Of course, it didn't look too inviting either. It would have been interesting to meet a couple of ghosts or so. I had a relative family living a kilometre away from it and I have looked at this place from their apartment in the night. There was never any sign of nocturnal activities there. :)
