Harihar Fort - An 80 degree elevated trek #BlogchatterA2Z

Imagine going on a trek to a fort which has 200 steps but with an 80 degree elevation . Exciting ! Isn't it ?

This is actually possible if you plan a trek to the Harihar Fort , 40 km from Nashik in Maharashtra.

The Harihar Fort was built during the Yadava dynasty period and was later surrendered to Zamam Khan in 1636 . The fort was built to keep an eye on the trade route through Gonda Ghat.

View from the fort

The Harihar Fort

It is built on an altitude of 3676 ft above sea level . Idols of Lord Hanuman , Nandi and Shiva can be found in the fort along with a small lake .

The fort also has a breathtaking view and many other peaks and forts like Anjaneri , Brahmagiri and Utwad can also be seen from the fort .

The trek may be short but it sure is risky . And by risky I may mean life threatening . Would you take the risk ?
