Lohagarh Fort - The Iron Fort made of mud #BlogchatterA2Z
The Iron Fort of India or the Lohagarh Fort is one of the strongest builds of the Indian history .
It is located in the Bharatpur region and was built by the Bharatpur Jat rulers .
The British forces led by Lord Lake laid siege for over 6 weeks in 1805 and this fort could withstand it all .
The fort has two gates . The one facing the north is called the Ashthadhatu and the one facing the south is called the Chowburja .
Although it is made of mud , the British couldn't win it and the Lohagarh Fort came to known as the Iron Fort only because of its super strength .
Not much to say about the fort , but it sure is one of the finest builds of our history and a must visit on your trip to Rajasthan !
