Madan Mahal - The Floating Fort #BlogchatterA2Z

 The fort of Gonds , often rumoured to be found floating , the Madan Mahal ! 

The fort is said to be built around the 11th century . The Gond queen , Rani Durgavati and her son Veer Narayan are well associated with it. 

The queen died while fighting with the Mughals and she is considered a martyr till date . She had built many temples and other structures around Jabalpur. 

The Gond rulers had their reign extending all over Jabalpur and the Madan Mahal was one of the structures created by them . 

The fort is at a height of 500 m on a hill named Madan Mahal as well . The way to the fort is considered a geographical wonder ! 

It is also believed that some gold bricks and the Gond treasures are buried in the unreachable underground folds near the fort . Shall we go for a dig ??
